My story
I've actually only been really ambitious about triathlon since the 2017 season.
After graduating from high school, in November 2016, I started structured and continuous training with the support of a professional trainer.
My performance improved significantly and I was able to achieve some really great successes in the 2017 season: among other things, I got the second start right for the KTT 01 and was allowed to start from the NRW League to the 1st Bundesliga.
I've been active in sports for as long as I can remember. I love sport and especially competing. If I'm honest, I mainly competed and trained very little :-).
For a few years (up to 16 years old) I mainly rode MTBs and competed there. Among other things, I could be found at the Allgäu MTB Kids Cup and Alpen Cup. At the age of 12, I completed my first short-distance MTB marathon. There were also 12-hour races.
In the winter I tried cross-country skiing competitions.
Over time, I ran more often and took part in runs with enthusiasm. I was mostly involved in competitions up to 15 km. I tried my first half marathon in 2014.
I first came into contact with the sport of triathlon when I was 13 years old. A children's triathlon was organized every year by a triathlon club nearby. I took part almost every year. For fun - as always without much training. I'd rather not talk about swimming here ;-).
What was incomprehensible to me were the results in the races. Even though I rarely trained, the results at the races were incredible. I have always been in the front seats.
In September 2016, I didn't immediately have the opportunity to study my dream subject. My parents gave me the idea to pursue my hobby more seriously. They gave me a year off to train.
I decided to put everything into triathlon and train - because triathlon is fun.
In October 2017 I moved to Cologne and studied at university. From a club perspective, I switched to KTT01.
Since August 2018, my home has been Boca Raton, Florida, USA. Because of a running scholarship, I am now attending and joining Florida Atlantic Universitycompetitions for the university in the disciplines Cross-Country, Indoor Track and Outdoor Track.
I have now completed my Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science & Health Doctorate and completed my Master of Science in Exercise Physiology with excellence. Since June 2023 I have been living back in my hometown, Oberallgäu.
My goal now is to focus on sport and make my dream of becoming a professional athlete come true; Whether it will be in triathlon, trail running, or duathlon is still uncertain. I keep all doors open :)
