UCF INVITATIONAL 01.10.2021

Week 2 is successfully behind me. Intense and hard but satisfied. I had good workouts.

In addition, there was another hard workout at the end of the week, or better said a little competition ;)

Dazu gab's noch ein weiteres hartes Workout zum Abschluss der Woche, oder besser gesagt ein kleiner Wettkampf ;)

Friday 10/01/2021

At noon we drove just under 3h from Orlando to UCF. At 6:30 p.m., the start for our 5km cross competition should be.

I have to admit, Friday was my low point of the week. Exhausted and the muscles just ached - I do enjoy the feeling. Anyway, today is all about the effort. My goal this week was training progress.

We had enough time, so, fortunately, there was no stress.

We warmed up, and then we went to the start.

It was a relatively small starting field (100 starters); only about 10 universities participated.

Yaaaaaaaa, it was hard, very hard 🤪. I made the best of it.

In any case, I still had my fun and was happy to be able to run.

The distance ended up being a little less than 5km; unfortunately, there was some misunderstanding about the course. Lol.

The girls performed well, despite the tough week. Everyone is improving, and that makes me very happy.

After the race, we went for a cool-down, ate at Chipotle, and then (finally) drove 45min to the hotel.

More than exhausted, I lay late in bed.

Saturday 10/02/2021

Long-run on the 10 mile Clan loop was on the program (That's probably the only reason why we stayed in Orlando/Clermont for another night ;))

It was a cool loop. It was so much fun, and this was my longest run in months.

Back to the hotel, breakfast, showers, and off back to Boca Raton. A short but nice trip

2 weeks of intense training are behind me. The upcoming week will be another blast; then it's race week again in Tallahassee, FSU.

The beginning back to practice is honestly hard, but I'm on the right track. The workouts are going well, I'm running almost old times, and slowly I'm getting used to the load again - only my body still has to adapt :D - I only say ouch calf.

But I love it; I am just happy. It feels good.

The past few weeks have not hurt me. I will come back stronger.
